Hi there.

I open a thread about bug that comes with Hair&Fur and multiple VrayHairMtl in the same scene.
I’ve already open a support ticket and it has been confirmed that it is a bug ( like Vlado says here too : http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbulletin/showthread.php?70883-Max-Hair-and-Fur-Vray&highlight=hair )

The probleme is i really need to find a solution as soon as possible, because we’re in full pre-production of a TV serie with multiples H&F caracters.

During my early tests, i’ve notice that we can pass throught this bug with the plug-in Ornatrix (recently released).
I didn’t made renders over the renderfarm because demo can’t, but on a single computer i didn’t get the bug reproduced.

The temp files created during the render for H&F object looks differents with Ornatrix, maybe the bug comes from thoses temp object written in temp DRA files…

If anyone has any clue about this, would be helpfull…

Unfortunately I don’t have an immediate fix for you; I’m still waiting on some clarifications from Joe Alter regarding this bug. For the moment I don’t see any other option except to recommend going with Ornatrix (or maybe HairFarm, not sure which will work better for you).

Can anybody explain what are exactly the process behind 3dsmax when H&F rendering, especially with temp files & DRA files…

The issue with .DRA files is forwarded to the developers for further investigation.
As soon as we have any update on this case we will get back to you.
