Has anybody succesfully rendered a car in Vray for sketchup! It’s a nightmare!! The curved surfaces of all those quality models off 3d warehouse are completly ruined by the triangles that comprise the face!! the reflections become jagged, nothing like a car. HELP!!!
I have also had this problem with trying to render a reflective sphere!!!
I’ve used a low poly car a couple of times for some V-Ray experiments.
Not sure what you mean when you say that curved surfaces ruing the reflections. Is it that they don’t render smooth? Can you post a preview so we can see what’s going on?
Try to smooth the car first. select the body car and go to window\smooth edges. Also, check the link that I give you, and download my scene, and remove my TT’s, and put your car there. Don’t forget to remap the HDRI file. I’ll check this when I get home. Good Luck!
Good, now the geometry it’s ok. You have to play with materials now, if you have the last vray release, then you could find in materials some “car-paint”, also, try to improve all the materials, and why not, change the camera position( if I remember, on the opposite part of the car you will get much more nice reflection from the HDRI map).
By the way, my model wasn’t smood…when I try to render a close-up , I observed some bad surfaces…so don’t get to close :))
