I was playing around with the exporting screenshot (to File) and also Custom Resolution. My question is, what is the highest that the output image can be set to? 4096x4096? I think for what my company needs, we need to export higher resolution for printing.
the highest currently possible resolution for screenshots is 4096 x 4096 as we had issues with weaker graphic cards due memory overflow
as we are rendering in real time.
But I think we can optimize that and I’ve forwarded this topic to our developers as a feature request, so they’re informed on the demand for this feature.
We rely heavily on feedback to ensure Enscape is being developed to be a tool as useful as possible for architects like you, so please don’t hesitate to share any further ideas you might have to improve your workflow with Enscape!
The Workstaton graphics card is a nvidia quadro 4000 2GB, which make sense because we did get error windows that popped up when we tried to go with 8192x4320.
But if we upgrade to a nvidia 1080 or a 1080 ti, would in the future enscape3d have profiles for higher end graphic cards with presets for higher end renderings?
Hi @nickw , our highest current possible resolution for screenshots is 4096 x 4096 but I’ve forwarded this topic to our developers as a feature request.
So I’m sure we provide higher resolutions in the future.
I asked this a few months ago about screenshot to file export for higher than 4096x2160? We now have a pny 1080 ti and i know that the card can handle up to Max Resolution7680 x 4320 within windows. Is there any way to for your company to make preset profiles for video cards that might be able to handle over 4k resolution? 4096 x 2160 is good for electronic prosentation but when we need to print it out to a 30" x 42" board, the image isnt that great. Any info would be great on a near future update on this issue?
since the original thread is closed and the last post was from June:
How is the progress on providing us with a possibility to render still image in a higher resolution than 4096x4096? Lately (once again) one of our clients wanted a bigger visualisation which could fit 2,5x3m poster. So we could not deliver high dpi image to them because of this limitation. We understand that the limit was created due to the VR and graphic cards but there should be an “expert” option, that you can still go bigger with the resolution when it comes to the still images. It is extremely crucial in architecture.
Moreover, this topic was also mentioned before, but again, no update so far:
Will the material ID maps, reflection maps, etc. be added soon to Enscape?
Hey guys, I just tried rendering out at 8k (7680x4320) and it won’t let me. It simply reverts back to a (square?!) aspect ratio of 4096. Can you remove this limit please?
+1 on this. We’ve done some rollups for a big event and we were forced to print them in 50ppp because of the 4096px limitation. It’s a pity to see a great Enscape render became a poor, pixeled rollup…
Please tell me we can crank up the resolution now. Architects still want their pretty High Res pictures on giant boards for their glitzy presentations. Thanks!
The old problem - finally the high end cards users loss a lot of productivity by several limitations. I wished the Enscape team could more trust the users and allow to set higher quality/output parameters per ini file. It would be very interesting to work on the limit of the engine.
@Jonathan_Knoefel - Maybe a disclaimer like, “resolution is higher than 4k warningwarning - only output to a still image- not to be used for VR! This could crash your machine - save before proceeding” or something along those lines. Thanks for replying, Jonathan.
