[HOU-4862] V-Ray LightTextureFilter breaks light linking in some cases.

This is gonna be difficult to report. Since I currently don’t have access to the houdini scene and license.
But I ran into an issue that if I have a light filter library with a V-Ray LightTextureFilter added it won’t allow me to set light rules based on objects.
Basically let’s I have an object in my scene and one of them I just want to be hit by 1 light.
So I pull one of the objects into the middle of the light linker ui and then add a light to the include section.
Immediately I get an error saying “Link cannot be made on parent primitive” and nothing is shown in the viewport.
But if I do it the other way around. I pull in the light first and add an object to the include list then it works.
The problem shows up the moment the lightfilter library is in the graph and the LighTextureFilter is listed under the light filter vop and light filter path. It doesn’t matter if the light filter is assigned to any of the lights.

I was using Houdini 20.5.445 with vray 7.1 at the time the issue occurred.

Hey @Mokiki ,

I’ll try to reproduce this, thanks!

Best regards!

Hey @Mokiki ,

I think I managed to hit this - added a screenshot below.

I’ll log it for our devs to take a look, and tag the forum thread with the ticket number.

Best regards!

Hey @Mokiki ,

I just realized the same issue appears to be present with Karma. It might be something both of us are misunderstanding here. I’ll message SideFX and get back to you with the reply.
I’ve attached my test scene.

Best regards!

Ah that is my bad. I didn’t test it with Karma at the time.
Thank you for checking though!!!
