Hi all,
I have some huge renderings that I need to do very soon.. They are for poster print and the size is in the area of 19000x19000 pixels wide..
Anyone who can help me breaking that into renderable chunks? .. Is there a command line rendering that I can do to do tile renderings or any other tips, to make this render?
My suggestion would be to render at a more manageable size and if needed resize in post. I cap renders at 8-10k now because the whole workflow becomes too slow and unstable at higher sizes. Clients always ask for oversized files anyway, but it’s not often even remotely necessary for print.
with max and the big render script you could do that. we done 2 weeks ago 2 print rendering in nearly 20k by 20k, took about 8h per picture (10quads, 9 tiles per pic) and was a pain to comp and paint it in photoshop…but its was working…
there are other solutions via other commercial render managers, some offer a feature for splitting images not only in scanlines like in backburner.
You can render any resolution with vray if you render to exr while using “direct-to-disk” rendering. Just give me your phone number and i will help you…
