With one of my old archaeology projects I have been asked to show, without any extra embellishment, how the throne room of King Ashurnasirpal II would have looked with only the natural bounced sunlight coming through the very north-facing doors. The doors open into a very sunlit courtyard.
I have always added extra invisible lighting around the room in the past to render the scene but a client wants something more scientific.
Obviously in reality it largely would depend how well-adjusted your eyes are, or how long you keep the shutter open on the camera. But for some reason, no matter what I do, I can’t make my render any brighter than the attached image. I can make things render darker, no problem, but adjusting any of the parameters to the extreme to let more light in does almost nothing -even cranking up the VRaySun multiplier.
I turned on Auto Exposure to give my camera these settings
Film Speed (ISO): 50317.262
F-Number: 8.0
Shutter Speed (s^-1): 200
I also tried the Max PhysCam, but I get the same result with that as well.
Is there only so much indirect bounced light that a single VRaySun can throw into a space?
Thanks.
