IRmap & LC : outpout size resolution relation

Hello,
Can we used a irmap & LC done under a 1x resolution to render the final pass in a 2x resolution?
For example, a 1600x1600 pixel IRmap & LC to be used for a 3200x3200 pixel final image.

Thanks

Yes, I have done this, however the pre-pass is so fast it’s a moot point. I have been turning off Glossies and Reflection when creating them; they are done in seconds.

thanks,
and what about a different ratio format. For example, IR &LC done using a 1600x 1600 pixel outpout but final pass using a 1600x 900 pixel? Often, do speed up the process, some outpout are done at the biggest common image outpout then crop later in photoshop. But of course that means that some image got a lot of area calculated for nothing (most of the time it is the background)

you control the resolution using the min max rate in the irradiance map. 0 is full resolution, -1 is half etc…
don’t do weird things like rendering at half the resolution, just lower the min max rate.

Not sure to get your point.
When rendering “from file” for the irradiance, it does not make any more difference, because the IRmap is already done.
