Since Corona moved to the unified logon system I have been having endless issues and c4d freeze when the license is not found.
Anyone else have this issue?
I have 2x workstations and a laptop. I jump between office, home and the laptop daily.
I had to reinstall corona a million times to try and fix it, I found now that if I reboot my pc and start the unified logon as administrator (manually everytime) then the problems is less… but still the license does not get picked up always.
Please tell me what i am doing wrong here, I have lost so much work every time I work and click on render only for c4d to freeze
When c4d crashes or you have to force quit ( because for instance IR is unstoppable (( another pain)), the licence is blocked for a while.
After restarting c4d you have to wait around 10 min. every time.
If I add up all that time and compare it to my lost hourly wage, they might as well give me the annual licence fee for free!
Please contact our licensing support team here and include this information about starting the unified logon app as administrator - https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Perhaps thanks to your report we could improve the way our licensing works.
Also, have you tried both the “cloud licensing” and “license server” activation options? You can choose which one to use during the Corona installation process.
I did log a call with support, their reply was I need to stop using the beta as it is unstable and I must use the stable latest release.
NOT really helpfull… I sent screengrabs and made videos etc etc…so apparently it is the demo that is causing the issues
no, still the same, every day I battle for almost an hour to get corona to work…it is really annoying. And the support I get is horrible… one reply per day, try stable build, next day make sure you use latest license server… and in the mean time I loose so much time not getting anywhere
If anyone was tracking this thread or stumbles upon it in the future:
Apparently, the root cause here was the template scene causing freezes, most likely due to being corrupted. The licensing issues were most likely the result of those freezes.
So if you are experiencing similar issues and using a template/startup scene, the first troubleshooting step would be using a fresh scene instead of the template.
Oh, wouldn’t have thought of that, since adapting the Corona template whenever there’s an update with significant changes makes workflow adaptation much easier (usually w/ extra tools added to & re-ordered on the toolbar).
Thanks for the info.
Yeah, sorry about this!!!
Every time I opened c4d it crashed when I hit render, when I reopen I got a license error… I think the old license was not released yet then I tried again…
I thought the problem was the license, after all I found out my default template actually got corrupted somehow. Once I deleted it all good!
