We’re currently using an HTC Vive at our company and are looking to replace it. Before we do, my colleagues have a few questions, and we’re hoping this forum can offer some insights.
We need a headset capable of running sessions of up to four hours.
Besides the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive Pro 2, are there any other good, preferably wireless, VR headsets that work well with Enscape?
Would love to hear ur advice and opinions.
Hi @w.vantussenbroek , and welcome to our Forum.
At the moment we do support both the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive Pro 2 officially and have heard positive reports especially when it comes to using the Quest 3 wired/wireless given that it’s also the most recent/popular device out of the two, without any need to setup additional sensors and such like you’d have to when using the Vive Pro 2.
Hence when it comes to price/performance and overall usability we can certainly reccomend the Meta Quest 3 with its inside out tracking (removes need for external sensors) though please also keep in mind that you will have to charge the Quest 3 or connect it to something like an external power-bank if you wish to host VR sessions of up to four hours or longer if used wireless.
Ultimately it will depend on your preferences but if there’s a chance to acquire the Meta Quest 3 (e.g. temporarily) then you can test everything out for yourself as well as figuring out if the long-term comfort is sufficient enough for you / your clients. Keep in mind that there are also separate third-party accessories available to improve comfort generally which you may want to acquire eventually alongside for longer sessions.
Please let me know if any further questions come up in this regard or if there’s anything not entirely clear to you.
