Does anybody know where to find the material sample scene, the one shown in some tutorials, that looks like the Vray one’s… ??
Which one? 
There is one that is not available externally, but the one I’ve used in the tutorials I make is from the third party Corona Materials Library site (http://coronamaterials.com/)
There are also a couple of threads on the forum with various shader balls available, e.g.
