Materials in Linked model

I have 5 models linked into a site model. I have done individual renderings of each model in their respective file so I know the materials are correct however enscape will not read the materials in the linked file. The materials have been imported so they are in the material browser.

Also, I am not using BIM360.

Linked files in revit

What shows up in Enscape

Rendering from the linked file

There’s a couple of reasons for this. It’s not Enscape. You have to make sure Revit can see the materials from your linked files.

  • The linked files are in a different phase and the phase is overriding the material assignment

  • You need an additional render path via Revit>Options mapped to the custom materials folder

Try this and let me know if it works.

Thank you @phil_read

It was the phasing. I turned off the phase filters and my materials showed up!

Your a life saver

Hi There,

I’m getting a similar problem in Rhino 6. Linked files are dropping materials and/or mapping coordinates. Some materials revert to white. Other materials show up but the texture mapping is way off (mostly over-scaled) so I think it’s dropping any tiling scales that I’ve changed.

When starting Enscape in the individual files everything seems fine.

Do all linked files need to be in the same directory as the “master” file?

Do all materials in the files need to be set to Enscape materials?

Hi there,

I am facing a similar problem in Revit. my linked files are not showing the material nicely in Enscape. I have only use one plain material on the two building in the linked file but partly it has shown dark and partly white. How could I fix the material to all white please? Thank you
