Matte with blend bug??

Hello!
I’m using a blend material where one of the materials is a matte material (actually a vraymtlwrapper) and a map in the mask slot
The edges between the two materials get really weird but only when one of them is a matte material.
Can someone help?!
Thanks

i dont have the time to take a hack at it tonight maybe tomorow but this topic should be put into the vray :: problems section

Im guessing that matte, is just one of those materials that has to be by itself, not in a blend material..etc..

Will also look at the file tonight, assuming it hasnt been solved by then

Hi RSF,

I have opened your scene and have examined it…
The problem seems to be with the MASK file…
I have replaced it with a procedural Gradient Ramp Map, with similar look, and it renders OK…!

Will try to fix your MASK file, and if it still goes wrong , maybe can use my example…

Best regards,

the mask has some artifacts that result from the jpeg compression. i would use a tga or a png.

Thanks guys.
I guess matte has only two states and grayscale would be mapped to either black or white…wich means pixelation…right
I guess mask boundaries always need to be hiden behind something.
Well…could be better..
Thanks anyway.
