Max 2012, now selected splines don't highlight to white in shaded viewports

In previous versions of max when I would select any object in a wireframe or shaded/edged viewport, the object turned white to show it’s selected. Now in max 2012, if the viewport is shaded, when I select a spline it stays the same color which makes it less obvious that it is selected. It’s mostly just an annoyance but I was wondering if there was some setting or system variable to get back the old behavior.

Funny enough, I just noticed the same thing yesterday; very distracting. I don’t know how to restore the old behavior, maybe I’ll just enable selection brackets when working with splines.

Try enabling - Viewport Configuration >> Visual Style & Appearance >> Selection >> Display Selected with Edged Faces.

how do I get there? I dont see that in my 2012? Do i right click on the little plus in the viewport to get it? Or in preferences? Either way, I dont see it

EDIT: OH ok nevermind, just had to revert from DirectX and switch to Nitrous

I tried this but same result, it still won’t highlight in shaded viewports.

That’s odd. Here are my settings and a couple of shaded viewports showing selected geometry and splines.

Sorry to change the subject a bit, but I would love to see a render of that room…

You’re right it is a bit off topic but as it’s you…
