Mix of AMD and Intel

I’ve just built an inexpensive yet reasonably powerful AMD3+ (8-core) workstation for use at home. I am considering building a smaller render node to use when I need to using a mini atx case. For this machine, I am considering an i7 based system.

Will there be problems in mixing AMD and intel processers in a DR job?

If I recall there was an issue a few years back (like 5 or 6) but I think that was sorted long time ago already with 1.5 or even older version.

I have two dual Opteron machines and couple of i7. All DR jobs come out just fine.

I remember these issues and vaguely recall suffering from the problem as we had xeon workstations and a bunch of dual core AMDs in a render farm. I just wanted to be sure it had been 100% eradicated.

Further to this question, how about VRayRT CPU - will a mix of CPU brands cause issues?

Probably not… I have to test it.
