I’ve downloaded some materials from this page, but when im gonna to import them the amterial editor always shows me in the preview the same material, like the default one, and some only show me the olor, but no textures, and bumps and all those parameters than make a material realistic. What im doing wrong? I use right-click and import, and just select the materials from the folder i’ve downloaded.
A FAST ANSWER IS NEEDED, so ill aprecciatte very much your aswers
All of the maps within a material are all linked via the full path of the file. Thus, when your importing that material it will look for the original full path, which probably doesn’t exist. You’ll have to go in and reLink at least one (maybe more) image per material. By relinking this should add a search path an Vray should be able to find the remaining textures.
how to link those material, im trying to import the meterial using vray material editor, seems like, when im trying to preview, there is no material to preview , just gray tone, is there any way or guide to link those material? relink material using vray? pls give us guide.
Humm maybe this is gonna be a good input.
If there anyone make vismat can be include a notepad, so user can relink the bitmap material on the rignt spot.
I think its can be help.
1. I download a .rar from agsvis.com and place it on my desktop
2. I extract to my desktop
3. I place the extracted folder into the materials folder in asgvis in program files.
4. I open the materials editor in sketchup and import the new material.
5. I klick previewe but theres now material shown.
Vray doesn’t know where the textures associated with the material are because they are in a different location then they were when the material was made. Just go into one of the materials, click on one of the maps and find where it is again. This will add a search path and V-Ray should find them again.
