Newforma is launching a new permissions platform for the Newforma Konekt (BIM Track) API on 24 August 2026. The update changes the structure the API returns for user roles, and it is not backward compatible. Every integration that connects to Newforma Konekt has to be rebuilt against the new API, Enscape included.
What this means in Enscape
If you use Collaborative Annotation while signed in to Newforma Konekt, issue synchronization can fail without showing an error. So far we have confirmed:
- Issue thumbnails are not saved.
- Comments added to new issues are not saved.
Because nothing fails visibly, other parts of the integration may also behave unexpectedly. Please treat these as examples rather than a complete list, and check in Newforma Konekt that your synced issues contain everything you expect.
Why older versions are affected
Versions of Enscape were built against the previous version of the Newforma Konekt API. Once the new permissions platform is live, those versions can no longer read the data the API returns, and they cannot be updated retroactively. This is a change on the Newforma side and is outside our control.
What happens next
We are assessing what the new API means for the Newforma Konekt integration in Enscape, and we do not have a timeline to share yet. We will update this post and the documentation as soon as there is something concrete to announce. In the meantime, creating local issues and BCF export remain fully supported and unaffected.
