A recent Nightlies Zip installation package does not include the Launcher batch file.
Is there any reason?
How do I use the Zip installer version?

You could use the installer instead, in case using the zip is not a necessity.

If you prefer to use the zip install, here’s what you need to know:
We removed the .bat file and added a README.md file in the docs folder explaining how to set up either an environment file under the Documents/houdini folder, or a vray_for_houdini.json file under the Houdini install folder/packages.
Both will give you the same result. The difference is that the packages approach allows you to separate the required variables for each 3-rd party plugin you’re using in Houdini into a separate json file, while the environment file in the documents folder has to contain all the paths in the same place.

The installer we ship will set you up with a json file. I’m also attaching an example environment file you can place under documents/houdiniXx.X - use either one or the other but not both.
