I have to work on an old file (vray 1.09…) and with the new vray version the picture is very different (much more red, brighter shadows, etc), how you can see…

Is there a common rule to get the ‘old style’ picture?
if your using color mapping set the dark and light multiplier to be the same. vlado mentioned this a couple of days ago
They are already the same (linear, 1,5 - 1,5)
Is it just me or has there been a weird spike in color-mapping questions recently…
could be color mapping, could be the gi transmittance is different making the second picture brighter etc.
dont forget there was a big change in the QMC sampler between 1.09 and 1.46 so your samples in 1.09 may have been set to 50 but for the 1.46 build you only need 8 (just an example)

Morbid Angel: I think you are right, but I can’t figure how to reduce the difference between the 2 images.
I can adjust the color difference in post, but for the shadows… uhmmmm…

I’ll try some empiric method… 
well color transmittance of the gi is dependant on the amount of gi saturation and amount of bounces in the scene. Since none of those features existed in 1.09 this could be causing the color difference.

1) gi saturation didn’t exist in older version, but I suppose this was fixed at 1.0 (the default )
2) the bounces ‘should’ be the same, since I didn’t chnge them at all…
Daniele, i think you misunderstood what I was meaning. Your settings will be way different between versions, not the same.
The GI bounce length has probably changed from that old version giving brighter results.
