It seems to me that options RE as a render element is a relic from past, why its not part of the v-ray tab in render settings?
I presume it was done like so, due to format settings being controlled by 3ds Max (in its output window). Otherwise, it seems to me better to place it in the settings. I suggest you log the idea in the Portal.

Whats the difference between this forum and ideas portal? Anyway there are other format related options already in v-ray tam so why not all of them.

Honestly, I would rather the portal go away and wishlist items stay here. Annoying to have to go elsewhere, and to not be able to discuss wishlist items here.
Obviously, may people don’t even know about it!
Just my ramblings…
The actual reason was to not clutter the main renderer settings with format-specific options; a render element seemed like a convenient way to store the additional output parameters. Of course, this can also be achieved in a number of other ways - we could for example add a rollout in the VFB section, or a button that opens up a dialog with the additional settings, or something like that.

I understand but anyway some format/output options are already located in vbf rollout so why not all of them. Having it as render element just looks odd.
I totally agree. This issue has been haunting me for so long. If it could be in the Save As… option, that would be so great!
