Particles with vrayLightMaterial

Hi!

I’m trying to render particles as spheres with a light material. Unfortunatly the spheres doesn’t get rendered.

It works with a standart vray material with self illumination, but that way I’ll have to enable GI for lighting effects, right?

This is correct, yes.

Best regards,
Vlado

Ok, thanks. So rendering particles (spheres, instances) with a light material is not supported by now?

For the moment we don’t support lights in the Instancer at all, regardless of whether they are mesh lights or regular lights - something we have to work on.

However if you find a way to convert the particles to polygons, you can still use the light material on them in the usual way.

Ok. So when I render particle spheres they are treated as instances internally?

Spherical particles are treated as perfect spheres. Geometry through the Instancer is treated as instances.

Vlado

Thank you!
