Photoshop? Affinity? or something else?

I would like to ask for yet another minute of your valuable time - what is your main image editor these days? is PS still undisputed leader?

Please do not hesitate if you have more detailed insight to share.

Thank you.

Photoshop here. I canceled my personal account, and I am using my company’s account. I tried to cancel PS a long time ago, but they were going to charge me a penalty. I finally got out of that and canceled.

I’ve been using Affinity for 5 or 6 years. Not coming back to PS until there’s a perpetual license for PS, but even then I probably wouldn’t buy it anyway. Affinity has similar capabilities but is completely free.

Affinity all the way!
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign all in one! Been an Adobe user for 30 years and haven’t missed any Adobe functions.

Adobe’s stock is way down. They are acquiring software’s like Topaz to charge credits - their Hail Mary! Plus, their other Ai credits. I suppose the same can be said for Chaos.

That’s sad to hear, I liked Topaz Gigapixel a lot.

It is now going to be owed by Adobe - well, if the government approves the acquisition.

Looks like I completely missed the fact so much of CGI crowd moved to Affinity.
From technical standpoint obvious choice for the job (with multiple annoying quirks that is).
And on PS side, since Affinity appeared - all we (CGI) got is good native EXR input-output and awkward OCIO support.

It is nice to have options. The bar to entry is lower now than any time in history - unless you are not playing fair and stealing software. Blender, Affinity, and things like Stable Diffusion.
