As water has its own physical refraction index, is there any physicaly correct fog color and value?
thanks
well i would imagine it depends on the airs water saturation.
fog is not as homogeneous as clear water.
IOR values are overrated.
plastic I DONT WANT YOU TO ANSWER MY QUESTION!!! I want WATER to answer  … kidding ![]()
Vlado any idea?
to be honest it could also depend on what additives are in the water… clorine for example
yep I anderstand that but its like the average IOR of the water : its only a value for “theorical water”. The problem is that we don’t have any references for the fog value. :?
I like to use physicaly correct scales for everything : geometries, lights, exposure (linear).
This is the reason why I was asking for this ![]()
What is souding strange to me is that this fog value have had strong visual impact and produce very differents results if you keep the same seetings from VRay 1.xx to a most recent version.
The fog value would depend a lot on what kind of water you want; water is rarely pure - there is all kinds of stuff in it that can have an effect (e.g. mud, chlorine, salt, sugar, ink etc).
Best regards,
Vlado
couldn´t we get something like a “vray shovel” or… “vray digger”
for even more physical correct environments ?
