Hey vray-ers, from time to time this happens to me and I am wondering if anyone here can help me figure it out. Notice in the image there are “spots” “blotchies” all over the floor. Everything else is super clean except these blotchies. Any ideas?
No HDRI maps used.
I do have maps on some of the vray lights. Light subdivs are 16
I have tried upping the irradiance to high and it makes the spots tighter but doesn’t remove them.
Jonferimonic: that worked to clear up the splotches…
MoonDoggie: Yeah the problem now with the adaptive set to .9 and the noise thresh set to .1 is that I am going to have noise in the image. It’s all lit with vray lights and GI. It did smooth out the “blotchy”-ness on the floor though. But I noticed way more noise.
No worries, I’ve noticed lately that a highly adaptive amount doesn’t like imap very much though a value of 1.0 is great for brute force. I’ve kept my adaptive amount pretty low for all my imap renderings, I haven’t seen any time increase, and the quality is better.
