Is there any type of shader for vray that is like softimage point cloud shader? If not, then what do ppl use when they render smoke and other types of particles with vray inside 3ds max?
There are plugins like Afterburn or Pyrocluster. 3ds Max does not natively have a similar volumetric shader.

Forgot to mention that the next service pack for V-Ray 2.0 that comes out in a couple of weeks features optimizations to VRayEnvironmentFog specifically for particle systems.

Interesting, what exactly does these optimizations mean?
I have never used EnvironmentFog together with particles
