processor limit

Our IT guy was asking how many processors Vray would use on a dual quad core system. He said that renderers such as Brazil would only use 4 of the cores instead of all 8. Is there a limit to the number of cores Vray will use on one system? we want to buy some dual quad core 64bit workstations.

Nope - peter posted a benchmark of a dual quad core machine using all 8 - someone else had an 8-way opteron too.

I believe the limit is 10 processors per licence

I believe it is only limited by the OS

there is no 10 proc limit afaik, there is a 10 node limit for dr, but that is boxes not procs.

yes…10 nodes can have 8 cpus for all it cares. Vray internal cpu limit is 256 cpus.
