Hi everyone, our team is doing a virtual house simulation using Enscape and Revit for construction. Normally, we export a standalone Exe file to clients, but now they want a standalone web link. Enscape says the file size is limited to 500MB, but our exported file is over 1.5GB (for example). After exporting, it seems the web page won’t run; it just stops loading no matter how long I leave the website open. The image shows a message indicating the file is working, but it doesn’t seem to be. So, I’d like to confirm if the standalone web file size is indeed limited to 500MB, and if it’s larger, it won’t run?
Hi @Thien_Luu , Welcome to our Forum!
Web Standalones are bound by the strict hardware and memory limitations of web browsers using WebGL, and we cap these to 500MB to ensure the best experience. Because of this severe restriction, Enscape does everything it can to compress data to fit within that 500MB browser limit, but if the file still exceeds the limit even after this extreme compression, the browser simply cannot process the data and fails, resulting in a blank screen or just never rendering.
If you cannot reduce the size of your models to fit into this limit, we highly recommend looking into our 3D Streaming feature. Unlike Web Standalones, 3D Streaming literally streams the entire Enscape model from the cloud rather than relying on the user’s local hardware or browser limitations. You wouldn’t have to reduce your models, compromise on rendering quality, or worry about file size restrictions at all. I do want to transparently mention that this is technically still in Beta, but the final viewing experience is vastly superior to a Web Standalone, although there may be longer wait times for the model to load from our server, depending on your network speed.

You can also look into our new Virtual Tours feature, which replaces our Panorama gallery feature. I’m not sure if this applies to your viewers or not, but these are useful if you need to open projects on mobile devices, or if you want to restrict areas that can be toured (such as if viewers find themselves getting “lost” in 3D Streaming models)

I hope this information is helpful!
