remote access to vray licence over internet

anybody got any ideas on how to make a wibu key be seen over the internet from our office.
we’ve got a fixed IP address for the net and would like to be able to access the licence while working remotely
im guessing I just need to be able to translate the external IP address to the box/port with the wibu key on it. just not sure how to do this.

wibu systems dont have a support page to ask the question, so wondering if anyone’s managed to do this themselves or have any ideas.
open to any wacky and wild suggestions.

cheers

You just need to run the V-Ray license server on the machine with the dongle, and make sure that port 30304 of that machine is accessible from the Internet - that’s all (you might have to ask your sysadmin to open that port for you). You don’t need to be able to see the dongle itself as such.

Best regards,
Vlado

so just set up a NAT port on router pointing to license server box IP address with the 30304 port and that should be it
cool, ill give it a go

and have, i can see the status page externally, so i imagine the licence server will see it correctly. fabulous. thanks

thanks vlado

I use a VPN and I don’t have any issues.

We use hamachi for this in our place.

Would you be kind enough to explain a little bit more on how you setup Hamachi for this purpose? I would like to do the same thing (Hamachi a work and home PC) in order to use Vray 2 from home (it would not be used concurrently unless my arms grow to be about a mile long).

with Hamachi you can set a virtual netwok, all the computers that you want be part of it will get an IP…in Backburber and vray license server you do need to use those IPs to get the licenses and control BB administrator via BB monitor over internet.
