Re: Render floorplans

post an image of what you are working with so that people can get a better idea of how to help

Re: Render floorplans

With brightness I don´t have problem anymore, but I don´t know how to render image with dimensions.

Re: Render floorplans

You can’t render dimensions. You have to add that later in post.

Re: Render floorplans

The best way is to render the image using a scene at a set resolution, then turn off all layers except that with text/dimensions and then export that from SU with the same resolution as your image as a png and then using an image editing program lay the exported dimensions on top of your rendering

Re: Render floorplans

how would you guys simulate the parallel projection view of Sketchup (ideal for a “floorplan rendering”) at VRAY?

Re: Render floorplans

Doesn’t that work if you turn of physical camera?

Re: Render floorplans

since i alway use physical cam in my renders (for ease of control of exposure levels), just change the field of view in skp by using the zoom tool and type “0” (zero). you’ll notice that the view will be similar to a plan view. then, just “add scene” to save the scene file. this will enable vray to render the scene in parallel perspective. btw, this also works in elevations. hope this info helps.

Re: Render floorplans

On a different note, can I ask why you want to render a floorplan with dimensions? Plans with dimensions are usually used for final drawings done in AutoCAD or Vectorworks, etc.

Presumably you want a pretty image of a floorplan which shows the layout of your building, since you are rendering it. I can only presume you are using the image for a presentational purposes. Adding dimensions to it would probably just make things messy and is probably unnecessary information.

Just my two pence
