RENDERING BIG RES IMAGES WITH CORONA - SETTINGS

Hello there,

Just wanted to ask for rendering images from 10 000 to 25 000px with corona.

What Render settings should I tweak? Because in a 15k image you can introduce noise, that will not be seen that much. Because its a massive image and it will be printed o a massive wall or fence. With for example 72dpi.

For example to do it with vray is very easy. Just lower the MIN MAX in iraddiance map for example -8-4 or even higher and lower down the color threshold to 0.03 or 0.04 ant it will render it blazing fast.

What about corona. I am on corona 1.5.2

I have 128GB of ram DDR4 2400. MEMORY is not a big problem for me.

Let me know guys, thank you very much.

As you said, noise isn’t such issue anymore in high-res but you still want nice Anti-aliasing so running full course of passes (usually 100 +/- ) to get clean AA can take very long time if you set very high AA:GI ratio (like 32/2 and more). I suggest to keep default or even lower (8:2). That way you will hit clean AA sooner than you would overall noise.

Thank you Juraj,

So if I would keep 14-18 for massive resolution and run it through 100 passes +/- it should do the job correct?

What about light samples 2 will be ok or should I decrease that?

Thank you

Its just I came from 9 years from vray, I am still in that tweaking the settings a lot mode

I personally have no opinion about light samples, I’ve never touched it mostly and when I did I am not sure it improved anything. I would probably keep it as is.

Understood, thank you Juraj.

maximum I was able to render realistically was 8K, please let us know if you were able to render higher and what issues you come across.
