Support for Revit 2027 coming soon or does it already work?
I’d also like to know when Revit 2027 support will be available. Revit 2027 launched on April 7, 2026 so it has been 3 months now. A hotfix should be available as soon as possible so we don’t have to wait to upgrade Revit to the latest version until Vray is finally available. Please create a hotfix so we can use Vray on Revit 2027 asap.
I am also trying to understand the delay here. It has been three full months since its release, can Chaos please provide a timeline for teams waiting to upgrade
4 months now since Revit 2027 launched (April 7, 2026) and still no 2027 support for Vray for Revit. I’m 1/3 of the way through my very expensive Autodesk subscription sitting on Revit 2026 so I can continue to use Vray. Still no explanation or timeline. Is this going to happen every year? Is Vray for Revit not a priority anymore? Veras already has 2027 support.
Can someone from Chaos please weigh in here? We really need to have a timeline for when to expect compatibility to be released
Hello Chaos Team,
I am writing to ask if there is an official timeline or roadmap for the release of V-Ray support for Revit 2027.
Revit 2027 has been out for a few months now, and many of our active projects need to move forward to the new version. Currently, our team is forced to hold back our entire BIM workflow and remain on Revit 2026 just to keep using V-Ray.
Could you please provide an update or a hotfix timeline so we can plan our studio’s software upgrades accordingly?
Thank you,
Enzo
Would love to get an update on this as well!
is there any news?
5 months now since Revit 2027 launched (April 7, 2026) and still no 2027 support for Vray for Revit. There has not been an update since Dec 2025. Every other Vray product seems to have been updated already even though Revit is the industry standard for design:
3ds max - 8/13
sketchup - 8/6
Rhino - 8/6
Houdini - 7/2
Maya - 4/30
Blender - 7/16
Cinema 4d - 7/9
Enscape 5/7
You are charging $540 a year and up for this product and you’ve provided no explanation despite this thread being started 6/29. When will the update be available or are you abandoning this product? At this point can we cancel and get a refund or can you at least offer us to switch to another product that you clearly care more about?
I am also considering cancellation of my subscription very soon now. We are approaching October and a usable product is missing as well as any usable information from Chaos
Seriously, where is V-Ray for Revit 2027?
Revit 2027 was released back in April, and we are now at the end of September. Yet there is still no proper support for Revit 2027.
I pay for a V-Ray subscription, expecting the software to be kept up to date with the applications it is supposed to work with. Revit is not some obscure or unsupported software — it is one of the most widely used BIM platforms in the AEC industry.
Waiting six months or more for compatibility with a new Revit version is simply not acceptable for a professional user who is paying for a subscription.
Every year we are told that subscriptions provide access to updates and new versions. But what is the point of paying for a subscription if, when a new version of Revit is released, we are forced to stay on an older version for months?
This is especially frustrating for professionals who need to keep their projects, templates, families and workflows aligned with the latest Revit version.
Chaos, we need a clear answer: When will V-Ray for Revit officially support Revit 2027?
And more importantly: why does it take so long?
As paying customers, we should not have to wait half a year for basic compatibility with the latest version of a major Autodesk product.
Please give us a concrete timeline instead of simply telling us to wait.
It has officially been 6 months since Revit 2027 was launched and there is still no compatibility for Vray and no communication from Chaos. This thread has been open since June with no response or explanation.
I asked them directly and here was the response:
Hello Mitchell,
I understand that information related to V-Ray for Revit 2027 is important when planning projects and workflows, and I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us.
At this time, we are unable to provide additional information regarding future development plans, release schedules, feature availability, or long-term product direction beyond what has already been communicated publicly.
If there is any product-related news to share, it will be announced through our official communication channels, including our website and forum, so that all customers receive the same information at the same time. For that reason, we recommend keeping an eye on those channels, as they will be the first place where any updates are communicated.
If you would like to cancel your subscription, I would advise you one opening a ticket directly to the Sales Operation team with that request. However, with the Chaos 14-day policy, you would not be eligible for a refund.
Thank you again for your understanding and for being part of the V-Ray community.
Best regards,

I have cancelled my subscription and I have received a refund for the remaining “future time”, however no compensation for the lost months…
It is a shame, but it looks like Chaos is trying to push us to Enscape or elsewhere
I will look into alternatives…

Unbelievable. You issued a new version of V-Ray for Revit (Update 2.2 - 7.20.02) today (Oct 29, 2026) to fix the issue with Swarm and it is STILL NOT COMPATIBLE WITH REVIT 2027? We’re going on 7 months now since Revit 2027 was launched and V-Ray for Revit still must be run on Revit 2026!? You just issued an update today and you didn’t fix this?
