Revit+Enscape on MacOS with Parallels

HI guys,

I have one question. Is it possible to use Enscape as an Add-on to Revit on MacOS with Parallels?

My situation. Working in MacOS ecosystem for years. We bought Paralells to use Revit LT /its slower then on Windows workstation but doable/ and still have Sketchup + Enscape native on MacOS. But we want to get rid of Sketchup /to slow and older “core” which can’t handle larger files/. So I tried to install full Revit on Paralells Windows /demo of Revit is workin/, installed Enscape on Windows Paralells. Enscape boots up, but during the Exporting geometry phase crashes…

I know that wise is to use Windows workstation for Revit and Enscape, but…

Hi @toman , thank you for your inquiry - I wish I had better news, but unfortunately, it’s not possible to run Enscape on Parallels because Parallels doesn’t provide some of the technical features Enscape requires. Since Revit doesn’t have a native Mac version, the only way to properly use Enscape with Revit is on a (supported) Windows PC.

Demian thank you very much…seems like Im going to make decision…option 1. Revit LT on Paralells + Sketchup and Enscape on MacOS…which is pretty costly each year for my purposes or 2. Buy Windows workstation and use Revit LT + Full Revit with Flex /pay per use/ + Enscape…

@Demian_Gutberlet @Demian_Gutberlet Hi Demain - Has there been any changes to Enscape+Revit working on a Mac silicone chips via Parallels - now that Parallels 26 is out? Or still no change due to virtualisation etc?

Hi @benwillick , and welcome to our Forum.

I’m afraid it is still not possible to make use of Enscape on Revit via a Mac through Parallels. The only way to use Enscape with Revit is on a supported Windows PC.

I understand this is not the answer you were hoping for. One user in a similar situation described a workaround of exporting the Revit model to SketchUp and then using Enscape on their Mac, but acknowledged that this is a time-consuming process and may not be what you’re looking for, and we unfortunately cannot guarantee that it’ll work without any (additional) problems.
