Hello Enscape Team.
Buildings represent the amalgamation of.
Enscape does a great job of rendering. But Enscape does a very limited job of rendering. If Enscape would render color based on function we could expand Enscape’s customer user base to people that need understand more than surface material and lighting: engineers, owners, builders and more need to explore and understand how a building functions. In Revit, filters can be used to assigned material values to parameters and range of parameters. Displaying the model with via filters allows you to visualize - Plumbing engineers can see pipes materialized based on function, quickly and easily being able to discern the functions of a piping system - interior designers can visualize fixtures, furnishings and other equipment based on values such as owner supplied, contractor supplied and vendor supplied - Architects can visualize a project based on which components are new and which are meant to be recycled - Contractors can visualize a model based on what has not been installed, what has been installed, what has been tested and inspected, and what is completed - Structural engineers can visualize a model based on the sizing of multiple structural elements which is otherwise indiscernible in first person My request is the Enscape display the color / materials based on Revit filters (the display of function and other parameter data) in order to dramatically expand the Enscape customer base and revenue.

Nice to have but not critical

Sometimes when you have a project with multiple Revit and CAD links in the project it is difficult to decipher which one is the issue displaying in Enscape. By not being able to see what it is in Enscape it creates a lot of back and forth between windows to find. This also helps with display materials and wall types.

great to for controls instead of going back to revit to manage items especially if available on standalone exe.

Again, really helpful for coordination. Would turn Enscape into a tool that would be used much more for Coordination.

If you don’t know why this is important and the VERY helpful workflow this would unlock, please let me know and we can set up a quick web meting where I can show you the customer workflow

I only really need to see Light fittings

Without a filter the data is not useful with clients’ presentations most of the time we just need 3-4 data fields per object filters will make BIM data final useful in Enscape

Dont use the BIM dat functions art the moment because there is no filter, I only want to see certain data about light fixtures.

This should also include support for rendering Model Objects material overrides from linked files. Tested and works in Revit, but Enscape does not rendering the override assigned in the linked Revit file.

BIM Data must be possible to be turned off completely for just visualisation purposes. Big projects are impossible to open with BIM data in enscape (but work with old enscape version 2.6 before you included the BIM functionality). Please just add a button (like the “update geometry” button at viewport changes) to turn off BIM completely. Thanks.

That makes much easier to add objects.

real time saver!

Support for Revit filters would open open us Enscape to a new type of users and allow designers, engineers and contractors to go beyond viz of materials and light and start to vizulize data.

When doing presentations you want to be able to show element data in a clear and focused way.

Hi, i work in the building services industry co-ordinating M&E Servcies using revit. I think the software is great for architecture, structural and lighting etc and i have acheieved some great images for clients. However myself and a client have come across a problem when using enscape for M&E services that we would like you to look into and see if there is a way around it. The way M&E servcies work in revit, you draw using systems and a graphics override but that means that everything on that system is linked and stays the same colour. As an example - in a run of pipework i would like to keep pipes and pipe fittings in one material/colour but pipe accessories (valves etc) keep their manufacturer set materials. So far i have acheived some great reults but my work around is time cosuming and doesnt work within a live project. i currently have to save the model as then move and disjoin all pipe accessories then delete the systems from them and move then all back to the correct place. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss or think a workround is possible.

Good way to limit the values shown in the bim browser- some preset filters in config file?

Just my five cents. This would have a huge impact IMO.Should this option be general or would you like to decide independently for each view to display these overrides in Enscape? - independently for each view, just like Revit treats them. There’s tons of those filters and having to set them every time during a team meeting would be very time demanding. Are there any other material overrides in Revit (besides Filters) useful to be displayed in Enscape? Just want to double check that you mean the Visibility/Graphic Overrides for 3D Views here. If not, that!

The current enscape specification requires attaching materials, and while front-loading is done during the REVIT modeling process, attaching materials is additional work. The information required by the worker and the parties involved in the study should often be organized with filter functions to visually represent non-material information. Therefore, we think it is very important to be able to use the way the revit is displayed in the working environment as it is, as 3D, for external and internal meetings. This is why this feature is something we are eagerly awaiting.

We do a lot of site studies with clients on large projects like amphitheaters, and it helps to filter certain areas with a color to explain what area we are referring to. Since Revit 3d views allow this, it would help if Enscape could track with these filters so we can walk clients through the space in early development presentations
