Rhino 8 Support

Hi all,

McNeel quietly released Rhino 8 sometime yesterday or today. Now you can no longer purchase a Rhino 7 license.

For anyone who was on a trial of R7 and needed to purchase…we can’t get Enscape working in R8 yet…is there a timeframe for full support of the new version?

Thanks!

Hi, loading Enscape in Rhino 8 doesn’t work.

Problem has to do with .NET Core vs .NET Framework

@paul_r and @carve_nl , welcome to our Forum.

Rhino 8 is not yet supported by Enscape, but we are in close contact with McNeel to add this support as soon as possible. I’ll notify you once again when I have any more specific release date or further news to share. In that case, thank you for a bit more patience.

Could you please update me on that @Demian_Gutberlet .

Development is already in exchange with McNeel to deliver support as soon as possible. Unfortunately we will need to wait for version 8.1 of Rhino in order to get Enscape running properly alongside. I’ll update you via this thread once more when I know more, or once said official support has been added.

Is there still going to be an update for Rhino 7 to work properly with Enscape 3.5.x? Or at this point should we assume that Enscape will remain broken until Rhino 8.1?

Right away, thank you for keeping in touch with our support team as well.

For now as per the latest e-mail (from Phil Read) it would be ideal to receive your main project with which you experience issues for additional troubleshooting. We are working on further fixes currently as well so your cooperation is appreciated here to find out what exactly is causing this behavior of yours at hand and whether or not this is something we’re already tracking.

Thank you for once more in advance for your efforts.

Good to know you are all connecting. There are a number of blocks/references so I need to make sure I have it all packaged.

The main frustration is the lack of acknowledgement that this is a real issue for firms who need to run both Rhino and Revit 2024. (and that a similar scenario has played out with a number of updates.) If it was just Rhino we could roll back.

edit: File has been purged of unnecessary content and uploaded; link should be in the ticket Phil created. Please let me know if you need more information.

Just downloaded Rhino 8 today too, eagerly waiting the update for Enscape. Thanks!

Hi a new update of Rhino 8 has just been released. I’ve tried to install Enscape V: 3.5.5+122071, but with no succes.

It does not appear and cannot be found as a plug-in? When can we expect to have enscape running again with Rhino?

Best regards

Rhino 8.1 has been released however the Enscape download page still only lists rhino 7 and 6 as compatible. Any update on how long we should expect to wait?

Same here, I’m following the thread to receive updates about rhino 8 support!

I just created a thread with some infos on the current situation here
