RTX noise levels

So this is unrelated to my previous topic since this occured earlier this year too. I have this scene that with noise 0.01, resolution 3k, and basically default setting renders about 6h. Normally my scenes like that render 1h, or 2h with noise 0.005. Weird thing happens when I try rendering the exact same scene but region only. All that noise disapears. That’s MAX spotlight btw, but vrayshadows set etc.

I’m uploading the scene to the link Alexandar Hadzhiev sent me in my previous thread. It’s OFB… Submission ID# PLSW-RB4S

In a few words, it needs more samples to clear the area. Region rendering concentrates sampling, hence why it renders well.

Overall, the harsh scene lighting (excessive light values, which afterward get suppressed by the camera exposure control) contributes negatively to the sampling. For example, disabling some lights (like VRayLightSky (dome) or VRayLight extra001) will help a lot without the need for re-rendering.

But yeah, you have lights with a multiplier of 80000…
