Compositing is nuke. DI and conform in Scratch.

little fact for everyone…the forest shot has 280million polys rendering in it using vray proxies. took about 1.5 hours per frame. vray rules.

wooooooooow…very very nice! love it!
Thought the windows were a tad too reflective, but whatever, overall its fricking awesome!!! 8)

I bet there’s a loooooots or compositing work

Very nice!!

I failed to see even the slightest bit of QMC noise though… what settings were you using to get no noise and 1.5hr renders!!! :?

Rob.

wow…inspiring…
i’d expect nothing less from you guys though…

let me just say WOW!!!

is the singer the same guy who sings the song at the end of thomas crown affair?

I’m envious you get to work with kosinski…cool

That’s very cool work. Congrats!!!

did you use QMC GI for rendering?
3d motionblur?

i didnt understand the “story” but it looks very nice.

nice!

 Great!! that’s it

Beautiful work. Great design.

Congratulations on a job well done.

V Miller

almost all the shots had 3d motion blur.
qmc gi was the way we rendered everything. all outside scenes were lit with a single hdri and no other lights.
interior was lit with vray lights really simply and just kinda worked out
additionally, we used terragen to generate the exterior hdris.

the 280 million polys were from those trees and just normal render settings got us those kinda render times. opteron 275’s are what’s on our farm.
i think we were around 1, 20, .003 for the qmc settings.

very nice throb!

sorry, my bad, checked it on the net. it was actually a nina simone song in thomas crown affair

the song you hear is a nina simone song. called blackbird.
it was remixed with a peace orchestra song to get to the result you see here

I did a higher res version of the commercial here :

http://throb.net/blackbird/

enjoy!

Do you think you will be doing a behind the scenes piece of this spot?

We just finished a spot and qmc gi was all we used.

qmc gi is becoming more and more viable now with the latest render boxes.

congratulations again.

V Miller

You utter bastard

I’m doing a test saab spot at the moment and odds on that your on is gonna be far nicer

we’re working on a behind the scenes now. should be ready in a few weeks. a little making of as well as interviews with people involved in the project (me, the DP, the storyboard artist) will be included.
