.STL Stereolithography Export

I’m looking to have a physical rapid-prototype model made from a 3D design of a casing. Has anyone used the .stl export feature of Max to produce a model from their files?

Any pros and cons of this export and any other factors to take into consideration modeling-wise?

I’d ask your rapid prototype service bureau for the right settings, because it depends on the choosen method.
