Hi, are you using greyscale bitmaps (“bumpmaps”), or rgb normal maps?
For normal maps the workflow should be:
bumpmapping > corona normal shader > bitmap
They should be displayed in material editor and in render.
I can confirm that the strength spinner does not seem to work in bumpmapping tab when using normal maps.
In 3ds Max there is a strength spinner in Corona normal shader, so adding it should probably fix the issue…
I had no problems with greyscale maps. They seem to work straightforwardly.
Hi, I used the workflow as you described: bumpmapping > corona normal shader > bitmap
I am using a regular rgb normal map, used it in V-Ray before and it worked fine.
I checked the version and it is the same, except I am running 17.048.
But I found out if i change the texture path from a relative to an absolute one it seems to work. I get a correct material preview but still a black picture in the normal shader itself.

As far as I know, the strength and many related normal problems should be fixed. If you still encounter any of the bugs in this post, feel free to reopen it! Thank you for your report.
