 like it?

Victor NSY

I feel like im wearing orange-tinted glasses looking at this one, why is it so orange outside?

Just felt like overdoing the orange that’s all …

It’s quite flat - you don’t see too many photos where the outdoors and indoors are well exposed due to the sky being so bright by comparison to indoor bulbs (Aside from overcast days) so I’d either make it more of an evening background plate or blow out the image a little bit more.

dudes feel free to mess ard with the image till it looks right to you!
love to learn and see the variation and most of all improve from where
I am.

If I could spend some time on the model I would take the orange out of the BG image, alter the lighting to a bright sunny day, change the materials on the sofas and curtains, possibly a good leather material on the couch and a lighter material on the curtains, swap the painting for a flatscreen TV and maybe turn on the lamp in the corner. Have you checked out vray-materials.de yet? Im sure theres some good leather on there somewhere if you wanted to have a play with your materials. A bit of tweaking and it will look much better.

In the thread of the sun and sky video tutorial, there are a few discussions on interior scenes, and how they look like when pictured, versus when rendered.

Have a look, by all means.

Lele

My quickie edit. I did not tamper with the indoor/outdoor contrast yet because i have to go out for lunch.

I’m on a laptop now, i’m not sure if the contrast will look right.

hi, nice image there,
but i was thinking like this:

anyway, it’s soflight (desaturate), screen (desaturate) abit of gradient overlay and hardlight. i didn’t save the psd. but that description should do it.

Good one, Dom…
much better… because of … u know

Best regards,
nikki Candelero

hehehehehe candelero i know what you mean!!!
that thing is soooo contageous!!!

Now seriously,

I would prefer this rendered only with the Sun, the spotlights, kill the area feeling of the outcoming light. I am sure with the Sun only , the scene would gather much better depth. The angle is very propreate.

nikki Candelero

you didn’t patented it did you ?
or else i have to start paying royalty! hahahaha

Of course - not…

But - yes, it is contageous… and you have to admit, a rendering is
looking much better put in between one of them, or am I wrong ?

P.S.
For example:
Just take the maxer’s last GREAT rendering (with the apples). Get it in PS and crop it… HOW DO U THINK ?

Best regards,
nikki Candelero

i think it ENHANCES the rendering.. a lot. thx to you…

You pass with < A+ >.

P.S.
Let’s stop flooding the thread, shall we .

Best regards,
nikki Candelero

yeah thats my job

must agree it does look more appealing

Hey Dominique-

I’m not all that great at PS. Would you mind explaining a little more of the process you just did with that image. I’m assumming you copy the layer and change the layer type? Whats the gradiant part?

Brian

hi brian, i don’t know how to explain, but please try this,
i hope it helps. and victor, excuse me for posting this,
but i guess this is part of journey that the image above was going through…so this is it.
1. open your file. then create an empty layer on the top of it.
2. choose your gradient tool, and change the type from white to black, becomes white to transparent.
3. do a gradient to your empty layer, from left to right, or from right to left, or up to bottom, or the other wise… up to you.
4. now you have your image, with another layer on top of it, which is the gradient white to transparent.
5. go to selection, load the selection on the gradient layer.
6. with the selection still on, go to the original image, copy and paste, with the selection.
7. now you have 3 layers. first is your background image, second layer is partial of your background image, third is your gradient white to transparent. hide your white-transparent layer
8. change the second layer to another mode but normal. you can see that the only thing that affected is only that “gradient” region. not all image. actually that was the main purpose of my gradient, because i don’t know the other way around. if anybody know the workaround for this, please feel free to correct me or add some knowledge for me
