Hi,
This is my first post here.
Want to share some interior test rendering
done with V-ray RT 2.0.
Rendertime 12 min(700x394).
Wow! very good pictures.
Could you comment on the settings you used? and with what type of card.
Regards.
Very convinving !
Is it done with RT cpu or gpu ? and what hardware ?
Thanks for your comments!
GPU rendering. I haven´t really adjust any settings for speeding up things.
I just let the force of one Quadro 5000, Three GTX 480, one GTX 460 speak.
It is so fun to render againe:)
But I miss some features from regular version like normalmapping, IES support ect.
Hm, actually both normal mapping and IES lights should work on the GPU; if they don’t - can you get me examples to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that we can fix them?
Best regards,
Vlado
nice !! time to buy a PCIe expansion box ![]()
like this one : http://www.randomcontrol.com/wiki/index.php/Arion\_monster\_machine
don’t make me drool
Now we talking:). But i guess you must have a small nucler power station to run them:)
thas still 1.5 GB memory only though no matter how many cards you have …too bad the memory doesnt add togeher ![]()
Yes, that´s to bad:(.
I would put in the GTX 460 with 2GB instead for good preformans/value and a lower power consumption.
definitely the right choice for now ![]()
I just started to play with RT 2.0, but the option button to choose between cpu and gpu was grayed out. Could select gpu option. Any ideas?

The option is only enabled before you start the ActiveShade rendering; it cannot be changed on the fly.
Best regards,

This is the machine of my coworker ( a friend).
I tried it with Vray GPU. It’s sooo fast…but it is too much expansive solution ( in my opinion) because you have to use them in ONE single pc. So you cannto work in onother pc and use its power(for now).
Vray has a DR for GPU ( arion not) so you can use as pc you want. In fact we could test this machine plus one other PC.
regards
