The scene has been modified during upload

Hey guys, recently we have this issue.

When ever we try to upload a job, it starts uploading, jumps to 100% and cancels the upload with this error.

What could be a problem? We tried exporting to vrscene and uploading it, same thing happens.

We are using Sketchup and Vray 6.01

Hi @vanja_uri ,

I’m sorry for the issue. Can you please share the exported vrscene file with which this issue can be reproduced? I guess it always happens with that scene. We’ll investigate and follow up with you as soon as possible. If it’s more convenient for you, you can share the file with me via a direct message here in the forum.

Thanks,
Vladie

Hey, I will have to leave a file once it happens again. We have already moved to another project and rendered this one locally. Will let you know once it happens again.

Thanks, @vanja_uri ! Yes, please share once it happens again. Sounds like a bug.

Bests,
Vladie

i have just had this error too, cant upload.

so, havent a clue whats going on, but i tried a different scene..it uploaded…made some changes to scene and the error came back…made a test scene with a couple of spheres…it wont upload. I really need the cloud to work today but no.

Hi @francomanko ,

Sorry for the upload issues. I saw that some of the failures are due to that the scene was modified during upload. Nevertheless there could be other issues which might have made you wait a lot and eventually fail the upload. Can you please share the Chaos Cloud client app logs with us to investigate further? They are located here (paste this in the Win Explorer address bar):

%appdata%\Chaos Group\vcloud\client\log
Please zip them all and share the archive file in a support ticket or via a direct message here.

Thanks,
Vladie

Ok, so I just created a scene with couple spheres, clicked submit, validated fine, got the same error ‘scene was modified’. Any idea on how were they being modified? I just clicked upload.

Using latest vray with gpu and max2023. Pre vray6.1 and lasttime i used cloud rendering, my process was the same, no errors. In fact I’ve never seen this error until yesterday.

on a side note, i just found out that my ‘webroot secure’ chrome browser extension was blocking me posting links here on the forum. Just one thing after another with pc’s

Hey @francomanko ,

Very strange indeed. This is the only error in the logs. I’ve managed to submit the .vrscene file that you shared through the standalone interface of the Chaos Cloud client app. I will need some help from my colleagues with this one. But I guess we’ll be able to follow up on Monday. Hope it’s not too late.

Meanwhile can you use the manual V-Ray exporter from the V-Ray menu and submit the exported .vrscene through the standalone interface of the Chaos Cloud client app? It seems to work that way.

In my case, we did not use cloud since. Was no need. But when it happened, the error popped both when we used cloud from within sketchup and when uploading a vrscene file. Which is weird, since it can not be modified..

Ok, so that worked..im wondering if its something wrong at my end. After trying it this way, i tried submitting the normal way, both in chrome and firefox, and the error was there again.

The reason i mentioned chrome and firefox, is that last week I noticed my webroot secure extension in Chrome, was stopping me posting http:links in the forum, and even after disabling it, im still having posting issues, such as the page not showing the message having been posted. Probably a different weird win11 issue, but i thought i would mention it.

thx though

Hi @francomanko ,

Thank you for the follow-up! Glad it worked.

Nevertheless I’ll log a bug about this case as we’ll investigate it further. I’ll keep you updated whether we’ll find something. We have enough details for now. Thanks for that!

Sorry for the delayed response. I tried reproducing this locally on my machine, used the same scene, ocio config file, 3ds Max version and everything else I could think of, but could not reproduce the error on submit. I think the best way to handle this is to have a remote session over Teamviewer or something similar, so we can check what happens in your environment. @francomanko , is it possible to have a remote session on your end - I can open a ticket about this in our support system, and we can arrange the session there ?

Np, remote session would be great. I tried it again today with same result, (manually loading the vrscene works). It must be something my end..but any help would be much appreciated.

OK, I sent you an email about this.

Hey @francomanko ,

Just to let you know that the bug is fixed. If you update to the latest Chaos Cloud client app version, it shouldn’t reproduce. Please let us know if you still experience it.

Best regards,
Vladie

hi, thanks for letting me know and the team for helping.
