The vray 7.2 Cryptomatte layer mask is completely unable to add models in interactive mode

I cannot add models in interactive rendering mode, so I have uploaded a demonstration video

Same here. Windows 11. C4D 2026.1 latest nightbuild Vray 7.2

Hey, all!

Thank you for the reports. We notice this behavior. This is an issue with the latest 7.2.XX version; however, there is a “workaround” with selection. Just select the object in the border, and the picker will apply the mask to the field.

Cheers,

Try this …

Understand, thanks!.. for complex objects I think it’s easier to type the name into the field and add…

When can this issue be fixed? This bug is very serious:(

Nihao!

Thank you for the post; the issue existed in our bug tracking system, and we escalated it to a higher level. VC4D-2926, I’ll keep you posted about it when the fix is added to the stable branch.

Cheers

I tested today’s fix version and found that there are still issues with the display mask function. The previous version had this function working properly during final rendering, but now this function has errors in both interactive and final rendering

Hi @123456_1 , this seems to be a separate issue and only affecting the Preview mask functionality. We will investigate further into this, but from my initial tests, it seems that this problem does not affect the actual mask used for blending, so the result will be correct. Only the preview is wrong.

The picker works again, in the latest build… super, thanks!

Keep in mind that the picker in interactive (or during progressive rendering) will still not work if you are using Distributed Rendering.

Additionally we identified the problem with the Mask preview (reported by @123456_1 ) and it should be fixed with tomorrow’s stable builds.
