Tips for adding backgrounds to renders

Hello all,

I was just wondering if people had any tips and would care to show there method of adding backgrounds for both interior and exterior renders. (by background I mean things such as skylines whether its city or hills…)

Thanks in advance,

Luke.

@LGawthorp , do you refer to the use of skyboxes, or the use of actual horizons in which our sky (clouds and such) is still being used?

Horizons not using sky boxes as i would like to incorporate a surrounding that is similar the the site location

This isn’t officially supported at the moment - there is a “hack” I can provide you via a DM if you like, but we cannot guarantee that you won’t run into any problems at the moment. I have still also gladly forwarded your request to our Devs.

Demian, if you could DM me the hack that would be great.

Demiana, hello!
Can I also have a “hacker” reception in the DM?

Demian, Could you also DM me the "hack " please?

Demian, could you also DM me on this. Thanks

OK… so is the “hack” to take your own panoramic and strip the sky from it then save it to the Enscape “Horizons” folder over one of the existing supplied horizons…?

So I copied the original Enscape “White.png” (which is the White cubes image) and saved it elsewhere for safekeeping then overwrote the original with my own panoramic and it seemed to work OK… Picked "White cubes from the drop down and my image appears - it doesn’t give or receive shadows which is good and so looks natural with the Enscape sky and my building shadows and it rotates with the slider appropriately.

All good…

My apologies, for some reason my reply I prepared before to you all wasn’t sent out:

It’s really basically what @Red-Lined mentioned already - if you require any assistance with that, let me know of course. It’s not something we officially support, but we had customers being successful with that already. Just make sure, of course, to use something like photoshop for example to cut out all the things from a panorama/skybox file which you do not want to have included. This way the our Enscape sky will then be visible through those cutout(s).

Let’s get started… I catch up your DM @Damian_2 . Just point and shoot :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hey! As mentioned in my last reply, it’s basically all described by @Red-Lined , and I added a bit more description with my previous post as well. Let me know in case you run into any problems.
