I am trying to export a .vrscene file from 3D Studio Max 2023 and bring the .vrscene file into Chaos Vantage on a remote machine that has much more GPU power.
Not of the texture information or VrayProxy objects translate over to Chaos Vantage.
Here are some screen shots showing the model in Max and the same model imported via .vrscene into Chaos Vantage.
The vrscene file doesn’t contain textures or the VRayProxy meshes (vrmesh files).
You have to gather all these external files and copy them along the vrscene (in the same directory).
One way to do this is to use File → Archive from 3dsMax, unzip the generated .zip file on the remote machine and copy the vrscene file next to the unzipped .max file.
Specifically for Cosmos, it may be convenient to set it up with a shared network location for asset downloads.
" Can I use the Cosmos Library in a shared network setup?
The Chaos Cosmos browser currently supports any form of network install, including mapped drives, UNC paths, Google Drive/Dropbox/OneDrive. It also supports network setup."
