Not sure why this happens. It usually happens at the beginning of a render..starting to happy quite regularly now.
I then have to force quite 3dsmax and restart.. then its ok. But it does happen again when I try at a later time.

Do you have any unusual objects in your scene (including other plugins), especially non-mesh objects?

I may have solved the problem. I merged everything into a new scene and havent had a crash yet..so fingers crossed.
Just to let you know Ive had another unhandled exception…not sure what it was but it happened pretty much as soon as I pressed render. Id just stopped a previous pre-pass of the irr map and then changed it to DR and then re-started..then it crashed.
Ive not got any unusual objects (not really sure what you mean by that) other than standard mesh/poly objects. No extra plugins used in the scene apart from vray.
