V-Ray 3.5 Beta Feedback

Where do I find documentation for 3.5? I have the beta installed but all the help sources I am finding are pointing to 3.4. Basically I want to test and learn how V-Ray works with the Vive via “Live VR Rendering”.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I added point 6

IPR
- When changing between buckets and progressive and pressing refresh, doesnt change. Idk why would someone wanna do this anyways, but might be useful to interactively change between those 2 modes as anything else
- Cant lock viewport in ipr. If i go on other viewports it starts rendering em.
- Color mapping changes do not affect ipr.
- Region doesnt work?
- Changing sampling/gi modes also doent work in ipr. Idk if it should, same as bucket thing.

RT GPU
- Low priority gpu should be on the fly on and off.
- Noise bump bug on vrayplane? (See image) Even if i get noise scale really low, doesnt respond proper.

RT CPU
- When i add noise at fog density rt stops working. And never opens again until i disable it.

ADV
- 0.99 reflection gives me wrong shadow reflections (see same image)

So far my feedback

Can you post that scene? It looks like something changed the default settings of your materials… do you use some “optimizer” script or something?

Best regards,
Vlado

No scripts here. I will upload it when i get back to my desktop. thanks

Is it safe for me to assume there isn’t any documentation on 3.5? I don’t mind continuing without it, just wanted to ask since it would speed up the process of finding everything new. A “yes” or “no” would suffice!

Thanks again!

UPDATE - Never mind, I figured out the Live VR issue I had. Thanks.

We do have a beta docs space which is in progress here:

It does not contain information for the live VR rendering yet; I made a separate post about it here:

Hi short cirkuit,

I have too seen that same error in the past when using RT. I never did identify the cause and occasionally it comes back. I suspect it is something to do with another plug-in or script, and the use of a custom toolbar button.

If you like we can investigate by pm and compare a list of our used plug-ins/scripts?

Cheers,

John

Will the Ir take over Vray Rt cpu? They seems to do the same job. Or what´s the difference ?

Maybe another pointer to IPR, for progressive, it stops cleaning up when the time limit has been reached (default of 1.0). Not sure if this is necessary for IPR?

Another also point for ipr, doesnt respond to overrides in environment.

Maybe I’m missing it, but does anyone know how the resumeable rendering feature works? Is it automatic or do we have to enable it somewhere? I tried testing it by rendering, then stopping the render, and rendering again, and it always starts from scratch instead of resuming. I didn’t see a pause button or anything in the VFB, and Max’s pause button is greyed out for me when I render… Thanks!

Is anyone else having an issue with the Dirt map? ~ Its frustrating me so much

In the VFB rollout there’s an option you have to enable.

Our goal is to focus V-Ray RT more towards GPU rendering.

Nope. What kind of issue?

Vlado you are awesome how your on the forums - amazing never had such good tech support on any other software.

Was wondering, if this nice luts script will be embedded in the frame buffer  ty
