V-Ray does not reflect mode change in default Max color management and stick always to OCIO evironment variable if is present. This should not be hardcoded and there should be some way how to prevent this, maybe some other envar like <always_use_ocio> false/true or something like that.

V-Ray 7.4 and Max 27.2. As mentioned in the link posted by hermit this behaviour is intended and in don’t think its the right choise 
there should be a way to turn it off.
