VFB and Windows Aero

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but VFB seemed to be giving problems with Window Aero.

The problem was a serious delay when closing, opening or selecting the Vray Frame Buffer.
The issue seemed to be coming from Windows Aero. Disabling Windows Aero seemed to do the trick.

Hope this helps someone.

Yep, it has been reported; disabling the 3ds Max 2012 progressive viewport option also fixed the issue. We will be looking into it.

Vlado

Thanks, this has been an issue with us for a while.

It took me a minute to find the correct box to check in Max. So here is where you turn it off, for others who may still have this issue:

1) Right click on ‘+’ at upper-left corner of the viewport.
2) Go to ‘Configure Viewports’
3) Go to the ‘Display Performance’ tab
4) Uncheck ‘Improve Quality Progressively’

Andrew

I don’t see this, and I am using 2011

I believe this is only for 3ds Max 2012…

Best regards,
Vlado

Oops… I mean that I have 2012, and I still don’t see it.

I don’t have it either, but apparently it’s an issue on some systems.

Best regards,
Vlado

Hello
You mean you don’t have any “Display Performance” tab in max2012 ? maybe is it max 2012 Design ? weird …

I don’t see the Display Performance and I am running MAX Design 2012. I am not running Nitrous, because it doesn’t play well with Remote Desktop, so maybe that is why.
