vray 1.5 sp2 compatability?

I read somewhere Vray 1.5 SP2 is only compatible with max 2008/2009. Is this true? Will it not work with Max 8?

V-Ray SP2 will work on 3ds Max versions 6, 7, 8, 9, 2008 and 2009.
