Vray 1.5 sp5 and Max 2012

Will the Installation requirements be made available for users who use Vray 1.5sp5 and can’t yet upgrade to Vray 2.0, but will be using 3ds max 2012?

2012 uses 2011 plugins according to autodesk

I don’t think so, they said that the plugins have to be recompiled for 2012:

I have tried 2011 plugins on 2012 and they dont work

ouch not cool…i dont have the money to upgrade and my partner is upgrading to 2012 thanks god i saw this earlier gonna hold off on that.

There will be a recompile of V-Ray 1.5 for 3ds Max 2012.

Vlado

So if the plugin will be recompiled, it’s realistic that retro-compatibility file version like 3dsmax 2011 will be removed??

No, why should they be removed?

Vlado

4.6 Will my plug-ins from 3ds Max 2011 work with 3ds Max 2012?
Yes, 3ds Max 2012 is will be plug-in compatible with 3ds Max 2011. No
recompile require

It’s strange!
I’ve heard that 2011 plugin is not compatible with 2012 according to Autodesk Webinar FAQ session 1 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/19CxUo2CmnUpCCpH4DjkBnElkgudbrQnUGdXz3m\_3v6c/edit?hl=ko&authkey=CNqhnccL&pli=1#)
But anyway, we will know the answer so soon.

Plugins for 3ds Max 2011 are *not* compatible with 3ds Max 2012.

Vlado
