Vray ADV crashes with multiple Gpu's in computer

For some reason Vray ADV crashes with multiple Gpu’s in computer. I have 1 Titan X maxwell for viewport and 2 980ti’s for rendering in Vray RT. I mainly use Vray RT, but wanted to try ADV again with my new threadripper. I realized that Vray ADV will crash every time, sometime even with a bluescreen. But if I turn off those pci ports for the 980ti’s everything renders fine in Adv then. Has anyone seen this issue before? I downloaded the drivers for the Titan X maxwell, and it auto finds the 980ti’s, both are maxwell. I tried it in a Intel system too, same setup, same issues.

Which driver version is it? Also which V-Ray version?

V-Ray 3.6.03 and Nvidia Drivers 385.41, seems to be happening with all CPU renderers, and anything that uses heavy CPU load, so must not just be Vray. Don’t know whats going on…

Hello,

I have the same problem.
When I want to interrupt my rendering the vray rendering windows flashes and crash my 3dsmax.
I use 3dsmax 2018 vray 3.60.01 with 2 GTX 1080 TI in SLI Nvidia Drivers 382.05

​​@​​​​​Michael, that’s not good to hear since you have 2 of the same GPUs. One, update your driver’s, there old. Two, you shouldn’t run SLI in a system for GPU rendering, that can lead to problems.

Are​​​​Are you saying when you cancel a render in adv it crashes? What happens if you let adv render for a while, does it crash on its own?

Thanks for your help! I have updated my Nvidia Drivers and install the latest version of vray 3.60.03 and it would appear to be more stable.
I will try without the SLI bridge

Previously Vray crashes only when I cancel the rendering.

What happens if you let adv render for a while, does it crash on its own?

It didn’t crash when I let the rendering until the end.

SLI can cause other problems in Max and is not supported. It offers no benefit whatsoever.
